The following is a list of tests available to students.


Required Tests (EOCs)

EOC - End of Course Exams

End of Course Exams are given in Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, US History, and Biology.

EOC exams are worth 30% of a student's FINAL grade. Credit will not be awarded until the EOC scores have been released.

All students MUST pass the Algebra 1 EOC to earn their diploma.

Required Tests (FSA Reading)

EOC - Florida Statewide Assessment (FSA)

Reading FSA assessment is given for 9th and 10th grade students.

All students MUST pass the 10th Reading FSA to earn their diploma.

ACT - National College Admission Examination

ACT Dates and Information

College-bound students may take as part of entrance requirements
Measures performance in English, mathematics, reading and science reasoning
Register online at www.actstudent.org or pickup a packet in guidance.

AP - Advanced Placement Examination ASVAB - Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery

Testing date is in the month of November
Given to juniors and/or seniors
Given at local high schools
No cost
Register in guidance

PSAT/NMSQT - Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test and National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test

Testing date is in the month of October
For college-bound juniors; sophomores may take for practice
Tests in mathematics and English
Academically talented students compete for National Merit Scholarship Semi-finalist standing

SAT - Scholastic Aptitude Test of College Board Tests

College-bound students may take as part of entrance requirements
Required for consideration as National Merit Scholarship Finalist
Measures performance in mathematics, English, and writing
Register on line at www.collegeboard.com or pick up packet in guidance

PERT: Postsecondary Education Readiness Test

PERT is used by 28 Florida colleges to assess readiness to take college level math and English.

The cost is $10 at Pensacola State College. A test referral form is required from your counselor.
