Beautification Days: (October 2019; March 2020) Help with ideas and plans for campus cleanup days. Work in garden areas weeding and planting, clean up classrooms, do repairs, etc. Chair needed.
Book Fair: (September 2019) Supervise setup, sales, and break down. Chair: Michele Robinson.
Coffee with the Principal: (September 2019; January 2020; April 2020) Help with setup and cleanup. Chair needed.
Faculty and Staff Breakfast and Luncheons: (August 2020; December 2020; May 2021) Help plan and/or serve at our breakfast and luncheons for teachers and other school staff. Chair: Dorothy Pincus.
Meet and Greet: (July 2020) Welcome new families to Palms at a public park gathering. Chairs: Dorothy Pincus, Kathy Reis, and Kelley Reynolds.
Orientation Packet Document Sorting: (shortly after school starts) Help us manage the forms we receive from orientation packets. Chair needed.
Visitors Days: (October 2019; October 2019; November 2019; February 2020; April 2020) Accompany a student-led tour for prospective Palms families. Translators (Spanish and Korean) needed as well. Chair: Dorothy Pincus.

Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities (check as many as you like):

Auditor. Review Friends of Palms and PTSA financial statements.
Bakers: Bake goodies for luncheons and other school events.
Dining for Dollars: Arrange for local restaurants to host a Palms night. Chairs: Michele Robinson and Kelly Silk.
Family Annual Donation and Fundraising: Help with ideas, publicity, and recordkeeping for our fundraising efforts. Chair: Cathy Martyniak.
Grant Writing: Help us find and apply for grants. Chair needed.
Grocery Store and Boxtops Programs: Publicize these "cash back to Palms" programs and turn in collected box tops. Chair needed.
Lunchtime Supervision: Supervise students during Break or Lunch. You can choose which days of the week. Chair: Nirit Brand.
Morning Drop-Off Lanes: Help with the morning drop-off lanes for 30 minutes before school one day a week (your choice). Coordinators: Gigi Whittiker and Dorothy Pincus.
Palms Gear: Help sell Palms sweatshirts and other promotional items at school events. Help us track our inventory. Chair needed.
PTSA Vice President: Lead PTSA membership drive (starting August 2019). Record memberships and distribute membership cards.
Reflections Art Program: Help our students participate in the PTA art, dance, literature, music, and photography contest and end-of-year show. Chair needed.
Social Media: Monitor and manage our Facebook page. Manager: MJ Kang.
Translators: Translate letters and flyers into Spanish, Korean, etc. Volunteers needed. Chair needed.
Website Managers: Manage the Palms website, deciding what news to post and exchanging email with staff. You can do this at home on your own schedule. Training will be provided. Website Managers: Neil Cuadra, Marisol Orozco, and Jami Messinger. Other volunteers welcome.
Website Reporters: Write news items and post them on the Palms home page. Update other web pages. You can do this at home on your own schedule. Training will be provided. Web reporters: Sonali Joshi, Linda Prinzo, and Keiko Seo. Other volunteers welcome.
Westside Saver Card: Help with solicitation, production, and sales of our discount card for local stores and businesses. Coordinator: Chair needed.
